Autograph letter signed : Last House [Glen Ellen, California], to David Pleydell-Bouverie, 1976 Oct. 1.

Telling him that she feels "The Ranch is not, and has not been for some time, the place [she] believed [she] was investing in," and she finds it "unwise to stay here under the present conditions"; saying that he needs to hire surveillance for the property; noting that his current "haphazard" way of managing the estate is "slowly running The Ranch into decrepitude"; explaining that she is having trouble with her vision and cannot drive or cope with emergencies like broken pipes; stressing that if he "cannot afford to maintain The Ranch," he "must either get rid of it or try to find money and energy to run it as it deserves"; adding that she feels caught in the middle and is considering moving if the situation does not change.
